MOCCAMASTER KBTS COFFEE BREWER

$339.00
Machine Color

The Moccamaster KBTS is ideal for coffee enthusiasts who prefer a more hands-on brewing experience and typically brew smaller batches rather than a full carafe. Its manual-adjust drip-stop brew basket allows you to control the flow rate or stop brewing entirely before coffee reaches the carafe, giving you greater control over the brewing process. The double-walled stainless steel thermal carafe helps keep coffee hot and flavorful for longer, while the included Travel Lid provides even greater heat retention.

Includes 5-year warranty.

Features
  • Fast brewing time – brews a full carafe of coffee in just 4–6 minutes with a simple, quiet brewing process.
  • Consistent brewing temperature – copper heating element maintains the ideal brewing temperature of 196°F–205°F and automatically shuts off when the water reservoir is empty.
  • Precision-engineered brewing system – pulses hot water over the coffee grounds to mimic a manual pour-over, ensuring even saturation and balanced extraction.
  • Optimized coffee extraction – cone-shaped brew basket promotes optimal extraction to maximize flavor, aroma, and complexity.
  • Thermal carafe – double-walled stainless steel thermal carafe helps keep coffee hot and flavorful for up to one hour and includes both a Brew-Thru Lid and Travel Lid.

Frequently asked questions

How coarsely should I grind my coffee?

We recommend a medium-coarse grind, similar in texture to coarse sand or sea salt. If you're having your coffee pre-ground, use these descriptors to help achieve the ideal grind size. Keep in mind that most pre-ground coffee is typically too fine for optimal brewing performance.

What kind of water should I use?

If it tastes good to drink, it will make great coffee. We recommend using fresh tap, filtered, or bottled water. Avoid reverse osmosis (RO) or distilled water, as both can damage the brewer's heating element over time.

Because RO and distilled water have had their minerals removed, they can become slightly acidic. This may cause the water to draw minerals from the copper heating element, which can eventually lead to permanent damage.

What is descaling, and how often should I do it?

Over time, minerals naturally accumulate inside the brewer's heating element, creating scale buildup. This can slow water flow, affect brewing temperature and extraction, and eventually impact performance. Regular descaling removes these mineral deposits, helping maintain consistent brewing results and extending the life of your brewer.

We recommend descaling every 100 brew cycles or at least once every three months. A simple way to remember is to descale your brewer each time you finish a box of 100 filters.
