For a typical 1.5 L brew cycle, Aiden brews coffee in approximately 7–8 minutes. Brew times may vary depending on the amount of coffee being brewed, the selected brewing profile, and any customized settings. Smaller batches generally brew faster, while cold brew cycles typically take 2–3 hours.
Aiden’s single-serve basket is designed for standard #2 cone filters, while the batch brew basket is compatible with standard 8–12 cup basket filters.
Aiden’s thermal carafe is designed to keep coffee hot for as long as possible. However, heat retention depends on several factors:
- Brew Size – Aiden’s carafe holds up to 1.5 L of coffee, which means smaller batches leave more open air inside the carafe. As a result, smaller brews—especially those under 450 ml—will cool faster than larger batches.
- Brew Temperature – Coffee brewed at higher temperatures generally retains heat longer than coffee brewed at lower temperatures.
- Brew Duration – Shorter brew cycles typically retain heat longer than brews with extended bloom or pulse durations.
If you want your coffee to stay hot for as long as possible, here are our two favorite tips:
- Choose the Right Vessel – Larger batches brewed with the batch basket work best with the included carafe. For smaller brews using the single-serve basket, we recommend brewing directly into a smaller insulated mug, such as a 12 oz Carter Move Mug.
- Preheat Before Brewing – Run an instant brew cycle using only water before brewing coffee. This helps preheat the inside of the carafe or mug for improved heat retention. Just remember to adjust the water amount accordingly before brewing.
For standard brew cycles, the minimum brewing temperature is 50°C (122°F), and the maximum is 99°C (210°F).
For cold brew cycles, the minimum temperature depends on the temperature of the water in the tank at the time brewing begins.
Yes. Aiden uses polyphenylene oxide (PPO), which is 100% BPA-free and does not leach chemicals, even after extended boiling.
We designed Aiden with easy cleaning in mind. The thermal carafe features a wide opening for effortless hand washing, while the shower head and water tank are removable and easy to clean.
For internal maintenance, Aiden includes a descaling cycle that automatically prompts you when cleaning is needed.
The only dishwasher-safe components included with Aiden are the two brew baskets.
